September 12th Newsletter

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We have had a great opening of school.  The purpose of this letter is to give you some information and reminders.                               

Do you want to help the school?  Don’t forget to save your “BOX TOPS.”  Box tops can be found on hundreds of items in grocery stores. 

1.       Confused about “new math”?  If so, you want to attend our Title I meeting, Tuesday, Sept. 18th, at 6:30 p.m.  You will have an opportunity to understand how to help your child with math.  Look for the flyer explaining the event.  I hope to see you there.

2.       Please visit our school website often.  It contains links to my big campus, e-books, a school calendar, and various other information.  Our address is

3.       For safety reasons, student check-outs after 1:30 p.m. are not permitted.  To check out a student, the person must report to the office, have ID, and be listed on the child’s information card as having permission to check out the child.

4.       The following are some dates to add to your calendar.

 Sept. 7-14            Book Fair             

Sept. 14                Early Release Day – students dismissed at 11:15 a.m.

Sept. 18                Title I Math/HW Meeting 6:30 p.m.

Sept. 19                Picture Retakes – individual only

Oct. 6                    Early Release Day – students dismissed at 11:15 a.m.

Oct. 8-12              Fall Break  -  Schools closed

Oct. 18                  Report Cards sent home

Oct. 19                  PTO Fall Festival

Nov. 7                   School Council meeting 7:30 a.m.

Nov. 19-23           Thanksgiving Break – schools closed

Dec. 10-14           PTO Holiday Shop

Dec. 21                 Last day for students

Dec. 21-Jan. 7     Winter Break for Students

Jan. 8                     Students Report


5.       If you need to change the way your child goes home, please send a signed and dated note with a phone number for verification.  You can also send an email before 1:00  Please do not email teachers or office staff to make transportation changes.  We are unable to make transportation changes over the phone.
